Kolkata: In West Bengal's Coochbehar district, there has been a case of a fierce beating of the Vice Chairman of Mekhliganj Municipality demanding the return of cutmoney. Some women in the area rushed to the deputy municipality's residence and made a big uproar. The BJP Women's Front was also accused of wearing sarees to the husband of the same municipality chairman.

The Prime Minister was accused of taking cutmoney in the name of the house being given under the Housing Scheme. The locals outside his house started uproar against Amitabh Rai, vice-chairman of Mekhliganj Municipality. When Amitabh Roy dismissed the allegations, the protesters were furious.

 According to the report, the demonstrators began to strike with the people of the chairman's house. The vice chairman was also beaten up. Mekhliganj police reached the spot soon after the incident was reported. At the same time, the husband of the head of the same municipality was also tried to wear a sari by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Women's Front. On Katmani's return, the deputy municipal commissioner said that the situation was deteriorating and I was forced to give in writing to save my family. The police gave no security and held the CM responsible for the incident.
