Some women in the area rushed to the deputy municipality's residence and made a big uproar. The BJP Women's Front was also accused of wearing sarees to the husband of the same municipality chairman.

Mekhliganj police reached the spot soon after the incident was reported. At the same time, the husband of the head of the same municipality was also tried to wear a sari by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Women's Front. On Katmani's return, the deputy municipal commissioner said that the situation was deteriorating and I was forced to give in writing to save my family. The police gave no security and held the CM responsible for the incident.
