Chandigarh: There is an increase in the death toll due to COVID-19 in Punjab. On Wednesday, 47 people lost their lives in COVID-19. The death toll due to the virus has reached 3406 in the state. Apart from this, 1435 new cases have also come. So far, 113886 persons have been infected by COVID19 in the state.
According to the Health Department, till now the figure of suspected cases in Punjab has reached 1841955. In which the number of positive patients is 113886. 93666 people have recovered. 372 infected patients have been put on oxygen support if they have difficulty in breathing. 49 persons are placed on a ventilator in critical condition.
Ludhiana remains number one in the number of deaths due to COVID19. So far, 741 people have died from the infection. 390 people died in Jalandhar and 321 in Patiala. 7 on Wednesday in Hoshiarpur, 6 in Ludhiana, 5 in Jalandhar, 5 in SAS Nagar, 4 in Bathinda, 4 in Gurdaspur, 3 in Ropar, 2 in Amritsar, 2 in Ferozepur, 2 in Sangrur, 1 in Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib 1, 1 in Fazilka, 1 in Moga, 1 in Muktsar, 1 in SBS Nagar and 1 in Patiala died of infection. There are five such cases, which are being reported from outside Punjab.
