Mahindra & Mahindra's sales have fallen by 42% and Tata's sales by 34%.

The country's leading vehicle manufacturing company Mahindra & Mahindra on Sunday said that total sales of its vehicles have fallen 42% to 32,476 units in February last year. In February last year, the company sold a total of 56,005 vehicles. The company said in a regulatory filing that it sold 30,637 vehicles in the domestic market last month, which is 42% lower than the 52,915 vehicles sold in the same month last year. Mahindra's passenger vehicle sales stood at 10,938 in February this year as compared to 26,109 in the same month last year. Sales of commercial vehicles were 15,856 in February this year, compared to 21,154 in the same month last year.

Another giant auto company Tata Motors has seen a 34 percent decline in February sales. Tata Motors said that in February it had sold just 38,002 vehicles in the domestic market. The company sold 57,221 vehicles in the same month last year.

Mayank Pareek, president of Tata Motors' passenger vehicle business unit, said, "Vehicle production and wholesale sales have been affected due to the Corona outbreak in China and a large vendor fire. Domestic sales of the company's commercial vehicle have fallen by 35%. Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in China, many types of equipment have been tied up in supply and this has also affected the transition operation to BS6.

Maruti Suzuki India has informed that it sold a total of 1,47,110 cars in the month of February. In the same period last year, the company sold 1,48,682 cars. In this way, there has been a decline of 1.1% in sales on an annual basis. The company said in a regulatory filing that domestic sales fell by 3.6% in February and 1,34,150 cars were sold.
