Corona becomes uncontrollable in South Korea, death toll is rising rapidly

The covid pandemic is once again increasing the atmosphere of panic in many countries of the world. South Korea has seen a sharp rise in cases of Covid infection. On Wednesday, 4,24,641 new cases of Covid infection were reported, while 432 people have lost their lives due to the infection. Here the number of critically ill patients is going to increase rapidly and the rapid spread of the subvariant of omicron has increased the concern even more. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) has said that 4,24,641 new cases of Covid infection have been reported in the country. This includes 42 cases from abroad. The total caseload of Corona infection has reached more than 1 crore 27 lakh. 

4.5 million new corona cases in South Korea: According to South Korean health officials,  after the past 5 days, there has been a rise in daily covid cases on Tuesday. However, health officials have said that the wave of infection due to the omicron subvariant BA.2 was at its peak last week. The daily infection tally had risen to 6,21,197 on March 17,  with the high infections adding to deaths and severe cases from the coronavirus. On Wednesday, 432 new patients have lost their lives due to coronavirus in the country. That's the second-highest daily figure after 469  deaths recorded last Thursday.

The number of deaths and severe cases from Corona is likely to increase further: The KDCA has said that the number of critically ill patients has increased from 86 to 1,301. The previous record was set on Monday when the figure reached 1,273. Earlier this month, serious cases rose to over 1,000 and have been above the level since then. The KDCA said the number of deaths and serious cases is expected to increase further in the coming weeks. As of Tuesday, 32.69 million, or 63.7 per cent of the total population, had received booster shots. The KDCA has said that the number of fully vaccinated people is 44.48 million. From Thursday, the government will start giving COVID-19 vaccination for children between the ages of 5 and 11.
