Dehradun: There has been a corona explosion in the district jail of Uttarakhand, the corona report of 70 inmates of the jail has come positive. This figure is expected to increase further. The reports of some of the inmates are yet to come, in such a situation, it is being speculated that the number of infected may increase. A camp was set up in the jail for hepatitis and other tests, due to which corona samples were also taken.

The same corona sampling in-charge Dr Rajesh Gupta said that the report of 70 inmates in the district jail has come positive. Recently, a hepatitis testing camp was organized in the district jail and corona samples of the prisoners were also taken at the same time. RTPCR samples of about 937 prisoners were taken. In which the report of about 500 prisoners has come and the report of 70 prisoners is positive. The remaining about 300 and a half reports are yet to come, in which case the number of positive prisoners may increase further.  

According to the reports, the inmates whose samples have been taken did not have any symptoms of any kind. But after the order, sampling was increased. A large number of prisoners in the jail has come positive, there is a commotion in the jail administration and all the necessary steps are being taken regarding corona in the jail. Jail superintendent Manoj Arya said samples were taken without permission on July 28. The jail administration should have given the information first. He said the isolation period of the prisoners has been completed. Isolation will be done for two days as a precautionary measure. He said that in those whose names have been sent to the list, seven prisoners have left the jail. The release of 3 and four have shifted.
