Thiruvananthapuram: Covid cases are showing a decline across the country although a large number of corona cases are being registered in Kerala. According to some reports, about 1.5 lakh new covid-19 cases have been reported in Kerala in the last five days. Let me tell you that more than 30,000 cases are being registered in the state for the last four days, while more than 31,000 people have been reported infected with covid in Kerala last Saturday. The test positivity rate in the state last Saturday has come down slightly from 19.22 percent to 18.67 percent from 19.22 percent a day earlier.

Talking about active cases in Kerala, it has crossed the 2 lakh mark last Saturday. At present, out of the total active cases in the country i.e. 3.7 lakh active cases, 55 percent are in the Southern State alone. Corona infection has started increasing here in the last five days. In fact, since Onam, concerns have started increasing here. Let me tell you that the State has added about 50,000 active cases and during this period 1,49,814 new cases have been reported in the State. On the other hand, if we talk about the most infected case, it is the State of Maharashtra where 4,831 new cases were registered last Saturday. For the second day in a row, the daily number has exceeded the same day last week.

Overall, the pace of decline in cases in Maharashtra is still slow but the cases are still not showing any decline. Mizoram, on the other hand, has also seen a marginal increase in infected cases. In addition, the North Eastern State registered 888 new cases on Saturday, the highest one-day cases since August 10, a day after registering 905 new infected cases last Saturday.
