Bhopal: 67 people, including 64 prisoners and 3 prison guards, found coronavirus infected in Bareilly sub-jail located in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday. Taking this case seriously, the state government has decided to give admission to new prisoners only after checking the coronavirus in all the jails of the state. Jailor of Bareilly sub-jail Vinay Garhwal was dismissed by the state government after being found guilty in the preliminary investigation. A medical officer of Bareilly town in Raisen district says that a total of 67 people, including 64 prisoners and 3 employees, are undergoing infection in Corona, a sub-jail in Bareilly. He said that there is suspicion that the transition from the newly admitted prisoners to jail may increase.
The official says that after showing symptoms of coronavirus in some prisoners, its samples have been taken for examination on Sunday. Jail Minister of Madhya Pradesh Narottam Mishra told that 'Raisen's Bareilly Jail is a small jail. 41 of the Covid-infected prisoners in Raisen jail have been sent to Vidisha Medical College. He also told that 'the prisoners who are seriously infected are making arrangements to shift them to Bhopal'. Mishra said that 'Bareilly is building a corona center in the sub-jail itself and other Covid-infected prisoners have been segregated in the same jail itself.'
He said, 'Jailor of Bareilly Sub Jail Vinay Garhwal was dismissed with immediate effect after being found guilty in the preliminary investigation. Now we are making such arrangements in all the jails of the state that Covid-19 will be examined for every new prisoner before entering the jail. Only after this investigation will the prisoners be sent to the jails.
