New Delhi: The total corona cases has crossed 70 lakh. Out of these, one lakh 8 thousand 334 patients have lost their lives. The number of recovery cases has exceeded 60 lakh and the number of active cases has come down to 8 lakh 67 thousand. The number of people who have been healthy is more than six times as compared to the number of active cases of infection. The number of new recovery cases in the country for three consecutive weeks has been coming in excess of new corona cases.

According to the latest data released by the Health Ministry, 74,383 new corona cases have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours and 89,154 patients have also been healthy. However, 918 patients have also died. 61% of active cases have been registered in these 5 states (Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu) and 54.3% of the total recovery cases have also been registered in these 5 states.

According to ICMR, a total of 868 lakh samples of coronavirus have been tested till October 10, out of which 11 lakh samples have been tested yesterday. The positive rate is about seven per cent. Maharashtra has the highest active cases in the country. Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh have the highest active cases after Maharashtra. India ranks second in the world in active case terms.
