Lucknow: BSP supremo and former UP CM Mayawati have attacked the Congress over the burning of temple priest Babulal Vaishnava alive at Bukna village in Karauli district of Rajasthan. Mayawati said, 'Congress leaders who met the victim in Hathras case are silent on the Rajasthan incident.'

Mayawati wrote in a tweet, " Like U.P., Rajasthan also has Congress government, there is an extreme limit in all kinds of crimes and killing of innocents, harassment of Dalits and women, etc., that is, not even the law, but the 'Jungle Rule'. Very shameful and over-alarming. But the Congress leaders here are silent instead of cracking down on their government. This makes it seem that whoever victims they have met in U.P. so far, is only their vote politics and nothing. The people were well-off with such dramas, this is BSP's advice. '

Ministers of the UP government have also targeted the Congress over the Karauli incident. After hathras scandal, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were targeted by ministers and asked if they would go to Karauli. In a tweet, government spokesman Siddharth Nath Singh wrote, "Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra are going to Karauli (Rajasthan)? Someone must tell you if they hear it."
