Chandigarh: There is no decrease in deaths due to COVID-19 in the country's state of Punjab. On Saturday, 61 people lost their lives in the state from COVID-19. With this, the number of people who died of the virus has reached 3562 in the state. There are 1106 new cases also. So far, 117319 persons have been affected by the infection in the state. According to the Health Department, till now the figure of suspected cases in Punjab has reached 1928289. In which the data of positive patients has been recorded 117319. 99468 people have recovered. 338 infected patients have been put on oxygen support due to breathing problems. 60 persons are placed on ventilator in critical condition.
In the case of deaths, Ludhiana remains number one. So far, the maximum number of 760 people have died from infection. 401 people died in Jalandhar and 333 in Patiala. Of the 61 deaths on Saturday, 14 in Amritsar, 2 in Bathinda, 1 in Faridkot, 1 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 3 in Fazilka, 2 in Ferozpur, 2 in Gurdaspur, 3 in Hoshiarpur, 5 in Jalandhar, 5 in Kapurthala, 10 in Ludhiana, There are 1 in Moga, 2 in SBS Nagar, 5 in Patiala, 1 in Ropar, 2 in Sangrur and 2 in Tarn Taran.
On the other hand, the rate of recovery of COVID-19 patients in the country is continuously increasing. So far, more than 54 lakh people have outperformed the corona infection. India remains at the top in terms of patients recovering. 83.84 percent patients have become healthy. India is also among the countries with the lowest death rate of 1.56 percent. According to the Union Health Ministry, deaths from corona per 10 lakh population in the country are also very low compared to other countries of the world. The global average is 130 deaths per 1 million population, while in India it is 73.
