The active case refers to those patients who are being treated in the hospital.

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Saturday, a record 18,522 new cases were reported during the last 24 hours and the total number of infected patients increased to 5,08,953. During this time, 384 people have lost their lives. So far 15,685 people have died due to this epidemic. So far, 2,95,880 patients have been fully recovered and the number of active cases is 1,97,387. The number of patients recovered from active cases is 98,493 more.

The rate of recovery of coronavirus patients is highest in Meghalaya at 89.1%. The rate of recovery is 78.8 in Rajasthan, 78.6 in Tripura, 77.8 in Chandigarh, 76.4 in Madhya Pradesh, 75.6% in Bihar. The recovery rate of patients in Gujarat is 72.8%, 70.9% in Jharkhand, 65.9% in Uttarakhand and 65-65% in Uttar Pradesh and Bengal. According to the data received from the PTI and other sources from states and union territories till 8 pm, 15,707 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. 380 people have died during the last twenty-four hours, with the highest being 167 in Maharashtra, 68 in Tamil Nadu, 66 in Delhi, 19 in Uttar Pradesh, 19 in Gujarat, 13 in Bengal, 13 in Andhra Pradesh, nine in Rajasthan, Haryana. Includes seven deaths and one each in Puducherry and Odisha.
