New Delhi: Asaram Bapu, who is serving a jail term on charges of misbehavior, has deteriorated after his bad health due to corona. Asaram has now been sent on a ventilator after being admitted to the ICU of MDM Hospital in Jodhpur. Asaram was jailed for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl who was sent to the hospital's intensive care room (ICU) after becoming corona positive.
Asaram was taken to the hospital on Wednesday night after he complained of breathing problems. The source informed that "Asaram has been placed on ventilator support and his condition is stated to be stable. Samples of them were taken along with other prisoners for the Covid-19 test, which yielded positive results. A jail official has reportedly revealed that 80-year-old Asaram had complained of restlessness and his oxygen level was also very low when he was taken to the hospital.'' The official added, "On Wednesday night, his condition deteriorated due to fever and respiratory complaints. We rushed him to the hospital at night."
Asaram's followers also rushed to the hospital after hearing the news. The police had to struggle hard to handle the people. Some people also tried to enter the hospital premises. Two women followers were taken into custody while trying to enter the hospital. Asaram Bapu is being prepared to be sent to Jodhpur AIIMS, 12 other prisoners along with Asaram Bapu have been found infected with corona.
