Kolkata: The risk of spreading the omicron form of covid infection in the country is increasing. West Bengal, on the other hand, is witnessing more than 400 cases of covid infection almost daily. A total of 610 new covid cases have been heard in Bengal on Saturday while 10 people have lost their lives.
According to reports, a total of 610 cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the state on Saturday. Compared to the case that came a day earlier, only 18 cases are said to be less. With this, the total number of cases in the state has gone up to 16,22,608. The Health Department has said that 10 deaths due to covid including five were reported in the North 24 Parganas district on Saturday itself. With this, the death toll due to covid in the state has now gone up to 19,594.
According to the department, Kolkata has recorded a new number of new cases of covid infection at 205 on Saturday, while two people have lost their lives. The state has also recovered 612 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 15,95,452. In comparison to active cases in the state is 7,562. In this regard, the department has informed that 37,527 samples of Kovid hybridization have been tested in West Bengal in the last 24 hours. In this way, a total of 2,07,22,577 tests have been done here so far. A total of 9,69,61,207 doses of the corona virus vaccine have been given in the state so far, including 3,80,621 doses given on Saturday.
