MP govt targets to vaccinate all prisoners by July 15 against coronavirus

Bhopal: The havoc of corona in Madhya Pradesh has subsided. In the meantime, a big statement has come out of state Home and Jail Minister Narottam Mishra. In fact, in his statement, he has talked about ensuring vaccination of all prisoners lodged in jails in the state by 15th July. On the other hand, Additional Chief Secretary (Jail) Dr. Rajesh Rajoura has informed and said, "Immunization of prisoners has been started from 1st June, 2021.''

At the same time, he said, "The work is being done promptly by the Department of Health and Prisons as per the order issued jointly by Additional Chief Secretary Jail and Additional Chief Secretary Public Health and Family Welfare." He further said, "Within 45 days, orders have been issued to the jail authorities to ensure 100 per cent immunization of all prisoners detained in jails. Under which the second dose of vaccine will be ensured by the Government of India within the stipulated period.''

Let us also tell all of you that there are 49,000 convicted prisoners in 131 jails in Madhya Pradesh. Out of these, 7,100 prisoners are said to have been vaccinated so far. You must be aware that cases of infection of prisoners were also found in jails and that is why this decision has been taken.
