Even after lockdown, Corona is not taking the name of the crisis. Health ministers of Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Puducherry shared the methods adopted in their respective states to stop the spread of Kovid-19 through video conferencing late on Thursday evening. The ministers put forward the strategy of their states and agreed to the need to increase tracing and testing in view of the expansion in the corona cases.
For your information, let us tell you that Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu informed other ministers that Punjab has increased the testing capacity ten times with the purchase of necessary machines. He said that the government has decided to start a rapid testing campaign with the aim of screening 10 lakh people. Apart from this, ICMR has been ordered for one lakh kits after getting approval to buy 10 lakh rapid testing kits (RTK) from Punjab cabinet.
In his statement, he further said that the testing capacity of Viral Research Diagnostic Lab (VRDL) has been increased in government medical colleges of Patiala and Amritsar. Apart from this, approval has been sought from the Government of India for testing in GMC Faridkot, DMC and CMC Ludhiana. Sidhu said that the work of making PPE kits is being done in Ludhiana. Once it is operational, not only will Punjab be able to fulfill its needs but will also supply kits to other states.
