Assembly speaker made it mandatory for Punjab Legislative Assembly members to undergo corona test

In the session convened on August 28 of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, only those members, officers and attendants will be allowed to enter the building, who will have negative reports of the corona test conducted between August 25 and 27. The decision taken by Speaker Rana KP Singh has been discussed keeping in mind the security of Honorable and Assembly staff in the midst of Coronavirus crisis. On Friday, Shashi Lakhanpal Mishra, Secretary of the Legislative Assembly, has sent a letter to the Principal Secretary, Health Department and DC to arrange for the corona examination of ministers, MLAs, officials and staff. 

It is mentioned in the letter that if MLAs are not available in cities. Their corona test will be conducted by setting up camp in Punjab MLA Hostel Sector-4 Chandigarh. After which the investigation report should be made available. Apart from this, the corona test of the officers and employees of the Punjab Legislative Assembly and the Government of Punjab who will be on duty during the said session should be done, as per orders of the Speaker of the Assembly.

For this, from 25 to 27 August, in the precincts of the Assembly Secretariat, the corona test has been done. For which special medical camp has been arranged. Also, the assembly spokesperson has told that the 15th Punjab Assembly has been called by the Governor of Punjab for its 12th session on August 28 at 11 am in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Hall Vidhan Bhawan Chandigarh.
