The police sent the baraat (Procession) to the quarantine center after weeks of return from neighboring Chhattisgarh in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh amid lockdown and corona infection. The incident took place in Pattupuram village of Meliaputty mandal in Srikakulam district .

While returning, the police stopped them at the Pattupuram Inter-State Check Post. They did not have the permission of the District Collector of Srikakulam. The Collector ordered permission to send Tekkali Quarantine Center with permission. Meanwhile, Palasa MLA Sidiri Appalaraju came to know about the incident. They went to the check post and forced the police to leave the bus. Later on the suggestion of the MLA, Barat was sent to the quarantine center of Mandasa Youth Training Center.
