According to Reuters, during an online briefing in Geneva, head of the World Health Organization’s emergencies programme, Dr Mike Ryan stated said on Friday "It was unlikely that the new coronavirus would be eliminated. In the current situation, it is unlikely we can eradicate this virus". He told this during an online briefing from Geneva. "By extinguishing clusters of infection, the world could potentially avoid the worst of having second peaks and having to move backwards in terms of lockdown”. says Dr Ryan.

WHO has also reported that the pace of the 'once-in-a-century epidemic' has been steadily increasing, and corona has not been curbed large parts of the world. WHO expressed concern and said that this makes matters grow faster.
