Corona's alarming pace in Delhi amid weekend curfew, so many new cases found in a day

New Delhi: 17,335 new corona cases have been registered in the country's capital Delhi in the last 24 hours. This number is the highest in new cases received since May 8 last year. The corona infection rate in Delhi is currently 17.73 per cent, the highest positivity rate since May 11 last year. At present, delhi has been under 'mini Lockdown' weekend curfew since 10 pm on Friday in view of rising corona figures. This weekend curfew will continue till 5 am on Monday.

Tell us that the corona infection rate in Delhi had crossed 6 by January 3, after which the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) issued a yellow alert. The positivity rate shows how many patients are getting infected out of the test being conducted. Its over-spread indicates that the infection is spreading very fast. The positive rate in Delhi is 17.73 per cent, i.e., 17.73 per cent of the total tests conducted are infected.
 
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is scheduled to meet on Monday in view of the growing corona threat in Delhi. Some more tough decisions may be taken in view of the corona situation in the meeting. Earlier on Tuesday, a DDMA meeting was held announcing a weekend curfew. Everything will remain closed till 5 am on Monday except those involved in essential services and essential sussage during the weekend curfew.
