Bengaluru: Corona deaths, "House full" boards set up outside the crematoriums

The entire country seems helpless in the face of the second wave of covid virus. Every day, lakhs of covid cases are coming to light in the country and thousands of people are losing their lives. The increasing number of cases of covid virus is adding to the workload on hospitals, mortuaries and crematoria. There are no beds in the hospital, there is no place to perform funerals in mortuaries and crematoria. The deaths due to covid have caused a pile of corpses, so many crematoriums are running short of space. In Karnataka, 44,438 new covid cases were reported on Monday and 239 people have lost their lives.

In one such case, a signboard of "House Full" has been installed outside the crematorium due to lack of space for cremating the bodies by the authorities of a crematorium in Chamrajpet, Karnataka. It has been learnt that about 20 bodies can be cremated in this crematorium, a board was put up here and said that no more bodies are going to be taken for cremation. There are 13 crematoria in the city in Bengaluru and they are all running full due to the recent increase in corona cases.

The Karnataka government has allotted 230 acres of land around Bengaluru to Bruhat Bengaluru Metropolitan Corporation (BBMP) for using it as land to bury corona murdos to ease the burden on the city's crematorium. According to the Health Department, the death toll due to corona virus infection in Karnataka on Monday has increased to 16,250, while the number of infected people has increased to more than 16 lakh after 44,438 new corona cases were reported.

According to the information received, in view of the full condition of the crematorium, the Government has decided to allow cremation in family owned fields and plots. According to the health department, Karnataka crossed the 16 lakh mark on Sunday after 37,733 fresh corona infections, while more than 217 people have lost their lives.
