In a midst of rising cases of covid-19 in the country, the Central Government has asked all states and union territories to ensure coronavirus rules, masks, social dissing, and cleanliness. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has written to states to encourage precautionary measures to avoid coronavirus and maintain strict vigil to avoid it. He said that the number of infections in many parts of the country has seen an increase in the past few weeks following the decline in coronavirus cases in the last five months. It has been observed that this has led to a relaxation in adherence to coronavirus rules, especially in crowded places. The country reported 40,953 new cases on Saturday. Several states, including Maharashtra and Punjab, have taken precautionary measures like night curfew. More than 4 crore doses of vaccine have been installed in the country.
