Like other states of India, the coronavirus is spreading in Chhattisgarh also. Also, the state government has implemented the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) on 10 services including health. Seeing the possible threat of Corona, the Home Department issued the order on Saturday. This order will be applicable to the government as well as private hospitals, doctors and their staff. With this, people associated with these services can neither refuse to work nor go on strike.

For your information, let us tell you that the government has taken cleanliness, water and safety along with health, under the purview of ESMA. ESMA has also been implemented on the Waste Management System (BMW).

ESMA is used to keep any service uninterrupted. After its implementation, employees working related to it can neither refuse work nor strike. ESMA rules can be imposed for a maximum period of six months. If the employee goes on strike after ESMA is implemented, it is illegal and punishable. Any employee related to this order can be arrested without any warrant. At the same time, every possible effort is being made to tighten profiteering during the lockdown in Chhattisgarh. In view of the rising prices of wheat and flour, the state government has decided to make additional wheat available in every district of the state. On the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Food Corporation of India (FCI) will sell 7250 MT of wheat. The initial price of wheat is Rs 2135 per quintal.
