New Delhi: The whole world is doing everything possible to get rid of corona infection. Scientists at home and abroad are leaving no shortage for it. Several trials are going on around the world for the use of different vaccines for the first and second doses of the corona. In the meantime, the Indian Council of Medical Research has shared a piece of very important information.
The same ICMR said in a statement that a study on mixed doses of Covaxin and Covishield corona vaccines has yielded positive results. The Indian Council of Medical Research claimed that the study on cocktails of Covaxin and Covishield has shown better results. The study revealed that with the combination of an adenovirus vector platform-based vaccine, the vaccine was not only found safe but also has seen better immunogenicity.
Last month, an expert panel of India's drug regulator DCGI recommended a study on mixed doses of the Covishield and Covaxin corona vaccine. The recommendation came after the Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore sought permission for such a study. The Subject Expert Committee of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation had said that the goal of the study is to find out if a person can be given two different vaccine doses to complete the vaccination course. If one is given a dose of Covishield and one dose of Covaxin, will it be effective? However, the results of the study have made it clear today that mixed doses of Covishield-Covaxin are also effective.
