Whose head will be crowned in the formation of the city government, this matter will be decided today. The counting of votes cast in 760 municipal bodies has started. 83372 candidates have appeared in Vaitarani for 14521 posts. Who was able to cross, it will be known today. Initial trends of 17 out of 17 municipal corporation seats have come. BJP is ahead in 16 seats and BSP in one seat. SP and Congress are now trailing in all the seats. 

The counting of votes is still underway at Naveen Mandi on Garh Road amid tight security arrangements in Hapur. Counting of votes is also being done for three municipalities and one town panchayat of the district. Hapur DM Prerna Sharma and SP Abhishek Verma are engaged in monitoring by being present at the counting site. During this, the supporters of the candidates were present outside the market taking updates.

During the counting of votes at HRPG College in Santakbirnagar district, there was a scuffle between the agents of SP supported candidate Jagat Jaiswal and BJP candidate Shyam Sundar Verma regarding one vote being invalid. After that DM himself reached SP. The police took charge and pacified the people. BSP candidate Suraj Srivastava has come forward in the first round for the post of president in Sonbhadra's Ghoraval Nagar. Around 92 votes lead over BJP's Rajesh Kumar. On the other hand, BJP's Manglesh is leading by 8530 votes in the second round of municipal corporation counting in Gorakhpur. Manglesh got 21328 votes, SP got 12798 votes.
