The counting of votes in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur, and Goa began at 8 a.m. on Thursday. In these states, elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the counting of votes, and police have been deployed in sensitive areas.

Because Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an MP from Varanasi, the elections in Uttar Pradesh are being closely watched by both voters and experts. Uttar Pradesh also has the most MPs in Parliament, with 80. Early trends show the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading in Uttar Pradesh and Goa, while the Harish Rawat-led Congress is leading in Uttarakhand.

According to early indications, Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has emerged as a leader in Punjab. The AAP currently holds 23 seats, with Congress coming in second with 17 seats. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Bharatiya Janata Dal (BJP) have 5 and 2 seats, respectively.

According to preliminary results, Yogi Adityanath's BJP has won 66 seats in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party has won 58 seats, and Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party has won two seats.
