New Delhi: Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has acquitted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav (former AAP leader) in a defamation case. A criminal defamation case was filed against the three leaders on behalf of advocate Surendra Sharma.

In his petition, advocate Surendra Sharma had claimed that his candidature from AAP was rejected at the last minute in the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections. According to the information received, Karkardooma court lawyer Surendra Sharma had alleged in his complaint that the AAP had promised to field him from the Shahdara assembly seat in 2013.

According to Surendra Sharma, due to this, he had also put up posters in the area for his campaign, but later the AAP placed another candidate in his place, which defamed him. After this, he filed a defamation case against the three, accusing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and former AAP core committee member Yogendra Rawat. However, now the court has acquitted all the AAP leaders.
