New Delhi: A good news has emerged in the country among the growing number of corona patients. India's first Corona Vaccine Covaxin trial is progressing at a brisk pace. The first part of its Phase 1 trial in Rohtak has been completed. The first dose of this vaccine has been given to 50 people all over the country.
Let us tell you that the biggest trial of Covaxin is going on in Delhi AIIMS. In the first phase, the institute is to be tried on 100 volunteers. According to sources, around 3500 people have registered to join the Delhi AIIMS trial. Of these, more than 50 percent belong to other states. Most of the volunteers living in Delhi already have antibodies against the corona. This simply means that those people are not eligible for trial. A person was given a vaccine dose on Friday in AIIMS. She did not have any reaction and was discharged from the hospital two hours later.
On Saturday, PGI Rohtak scientists started the second round. He has given a vaccine dose to six more people. Giving information on the trial team, Principal Investigator Dr Savita Sharma said that the initial results of the vaccine trial have been very 'encouraging'. The doctor told that volunteers have been given a diary, in which if they have any problem, they have to write about it. He said the volunteer would be called again for follow-up after seven days, but in the meantime if he had any kind of problem, he could come anytime.
