Mumbai: Corona infection continues to wreak havoc in Maharashtra. Although there has been a decrease in corona cases in many parts of the state, there are still many districts where corona cases are increasing rapidly. Recently, State Health Minister Rajesh Tope gave a statement saying, "The cases of COVID-19 are not decreasing in Kolhapur, Sahni, Satara, and Pune districts. There the positivity rate is higher than the state average. Our protocols of tracking, tracing and testing are on in these districts.''

Let us tell you that in the entire month of July, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, and Pune contributed 52.6 percent to Maharashtra's total COVID-19 cases. In such a situation, the State Health Minister says that he has asked the officials to strictly implement the COVID protocol. Apart from this, he also said, "If we stick to this and increase testing, then the number may come down." The Health Minister said that the work has been affected by the floods.

The Zika virus has also raised concerns amid the havoc of Corona infection. Let us tell you that the cases of Zika virus were being seen the most in Kerala, although now its first case has also been found in Maharashtra. In such a situation, Health Minister Rajesh Tope says that the first case of Zika virus has come up in Pune and the infected is a woman.

He further added that the health department has taken steps on preventive actions like fogging. Our department is also monitoring and cleaning the water. Let us also tell you all that on Tuesday, 6,005 new cases of coronavirus were registered in Maharashtra. During this, 177 patients died and 6,799 patients went home after recovering from the infection.
