Los Angeles County recorded 31,576 new Covid-19 cases in the last day, about ten times the 3,360 infections reported on December 17, 2021, according to the Department of Public Health.

According to media sources, the Department reportedly recorded 27 more fatalities from Covid-19 on Monday, bringing the county's total caseload and death toll to 2,289,045 and 28,086, respectively.

According to the Department of Health & Human Services, 4,564 persons with Covid-19 are presently hospitalised in the most populated US county, approximately six times the number admitted one month earlier when 772 people were admitted. It added the county's daily positivity rate is 16.5 percent, which is more than eight times the 2% daily positivity rate on December 17, 2021.
