NEW DELHI: India continues to see a decline in daily Covid-19 tally. On April 29, the country witnessed a further drop with 7,171 cases in 24 hours. This drop comes a day after the country logged 7,533 cases Saturday.. 

As per Health Ministry's data, the active cases in the country has declined to 51,314 from the earlier 53,852. The death toll rose to 5,31,508 with 40 deaths, which included 15 reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am read.

4.49 crore Covid cases were reported as a whole. According to the health ministry website, the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.70%, and the active cases currently make up 0.11 percent of all infections. 4,43,56,693 persons have recovered from the illness, while the case mortality rate has been reported at 1.18 percent.

The Covid vaccination has now been given in the nation 220.66 crore times, according to the ministry's website.

Between April 19 and April 27, at least 40 COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the nation's capital. Experts say that the infection is turning serious mostly in elderly patients and those with comorbidities.The medical professionals added that even though the number of daily cases in absolute terms is still not low, the count needs to be watched over the coming days before it can be determined whether or not a decreasing trend has begun.

For the second day in a row, Delhi reported seven Covid-related fatalities on Thursday, along with 865 new instances of the virus with a positive rate of 16.9%.
