As per Health Ministry's data, the active cases in the country has declined to 51,314 from the earlier 53,852. The death toll rose to 5,31,508 with 40 deaths, which included 15 reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am read.
4.49 crore Covid cases were reported as a whole. According to the health ministry website, the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.70%, and the active cases currently make up 0.11 percent of all infections. 4,43,56,693 persons have recovered from the illness, while the case mortality rate has been reported at 1.18 percent.
The Covid vaccination has now been given in the nation 220.66 crore times, according to the ministry's website.
Between April 19 and April 27, at least 40 COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the nation's capital. Experts say that the infection is turning serious mostly in elderly patients and those with comorbidities.The medical professionals added that even though the number of daily cases in absolute terms is still not low, the count needs to be watched over the coming days before it can be determined whether or not a decreasing trend has begun.
