New Delhi: India registered 4,362 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, continuing the downward trend in COVID-19 cases.

On Sunday, India recorded 5,476 new cases. The number of active cases in the country is presently 54,118. According to government data, it accounts for 0.13 percent of all cases.

Despite the fact that the number of new COVID-19 cases has decreased since yesterday, the daily positive rate has increased slightly to 0.71 percent from 0.60 percent on Sunday. The positivity rate for the week is 0.73 percent.

9,620 people have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of persons who have recovered to 4,23,98,095. The recovery rate has reached 98.68 percent. The country's death toll is at 5,15,102. In the previous 24 hours, 66 people have died as a result of the illness. The total number of tests completed so far has risen to 77.34 crores, thanks to 6,12,926 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 178.90 crore vaccine doses have been administered to eligible beneficiaries as part of the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination push. The immunisation campaign against the virus in India began on January 16, 2021.
