New Delhi: India has seen 4,575 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Wednesday. The government data indicastes that the active caseload of India has risen to 46,962 currently, which accounts for 0.11 per cent of total cases.
The daily test positivity rate stands at 0.51 per cent whereas the weekly positivity rate is 0.62 per cent. Meanwhile, 7,416 people have been recovered of the COVID-19 virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people who have been cured to 4,24,13,566. There is now a recovery rate of 98.69 per cent, which is the same as before.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare says that in the last 24 hours, as many as 145 people have died from the coronavirus, which is spread by the virus. During the last 24 hours, 8,97,904 tests were done to see if COVID-19 had been found in people. The total number of tests so far has reached 77,52 crore. A total of 179.33 million vaccine doses have been given to people who are eligible under the COVID-19 vaccination drive so far. On January 16, 2021.
Meanwhile, in Kerala a total of 1,791 people turned Covid positive while the TPR came down to 5.57 percent, said a statement from Health Minister Veena George. While there were 1,871 recoveries, the cumulative number of active cases was 12,677 of which 9 percent of the patients were under treatment at various hospitals.
