NEW DELHI: India has seen a significant drop in COVID-19 cases, with the country reporting 6,594 new infections in the last 24 hours, down 18% from the day before. 

On Monday, the country has 8,084 COVID-19 cases. This was the third day in a row that India has reported over 8,000 cases in a single day. According to the Union Health Ministry, India's active caseload now stands at 50,548 cases, accounting for 0.12% of all infections.

In the last 24 hours, 4,035 people have been rescued from the coronavirus, bringing the total number of people rescued to 4,26,61,370. The recovery rate in India is 98.67 percent.  The weekly positivity rate is 2.32 percent, and the daily positivity rate is 2.05 percent.

There have been 85.54 crore COVID-19 tests conducted throughout the country so far, with 3,21,873 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, India's COVID vaccination programme has surpassed the milestone of 195.35 Cr.

COVID-19 immunisation for children aged 12 to 14 years old began on March 16, 2022. The first dose of the COVID vaccination has been given to 3,52,45,234 adolescents thus far. So far, States/UTs have received 1,93,53,58,865  vaccine doses, with over 13.56 c (13,56,98,610) balance and unutilized doses remaining available.
