New Delhi: The threat of corona virus in the country is not gone yet. Apart from Maharashtra, Kerala, the situation again looks worrying in many states. For some time now, the news of rapid spread of corona infection in humans as well as animals has increased the concern of the people and the government. Meanwhile, 'Anocovax' vaccine has been launched in India to protect animals from corona infection.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Thursday (9 June 2022) launched the corona vaccine 'Anokovax' for the first time in the country. The vaccine has been developed by the Haryana-based ICAR-National Research Center on Equines (NRC). Many research has revealed that humans have infected pets with the corona virus. Many dogs and cats have been found infected in the RTPCR test. Dog and cat owners are very happy with the introduction of vaccines for pets. Especially at a time when the cases of corona virus are increasing once again. Earlier he could not save them even if he wanted to, but now he will be able to save his pets from the deadly virus by getting this vaccine.

ICMR has said in a statement that Encovax is an inactivated SARS-Cov-2 delta (Covid-19) vaccine for animals. The immunity from enokovax affects both the SARS-CoV-2 delta and Omicron variants. According to ICMR, the vaccine contains inactivated SARS-Cov-2 (Delta) antigens. It has Alhydrogel as an adjuvant. In such a situation, the animals which are considered safe for this vaccine mainly include dogs, lions, leopards, rats and rabbits. Scientists at the University of Florida have found evidence in the latest research that some coronaviruses, which previously only infecting animals, have become more deadly. Now it can be spread from pigs and dogs to humans.

Scientists have found SARS-CoV-2 in 29 different animals, including white-tailed deer, cats, dogs, ferrets, rats, otters and tigers. In most of these cases, the virus is spread from animals to people. In November 2020, scientists found that mink (a type of beaver) transmitted the virus to humans. In North America, large numbers of white-tailed deer live close to people. Antibodies were found in 40% of deer tested between January and March 2021 in the states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Illinois and New York. At the same time, in 2020, at least 4 American people got corona infection from mink.
