NEW DELHI: According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Friday, India witnessed a modest decrease in infections per day with the 11,692 new cases registered in the previous 24 hours. This modest decline occurred the day after the nation reported 12,591 instances the day before. 66,170 cases are still open across the nation as of right now.
From April 14 to April 18, when 11,109 and 7,633 instances, respectively, were reported, the nation saw a falling trend. 9,111 on April 17, 10,093 on April 16, and 10,753 on April 15 were the numbers recorded in India.
Till Thursday, Delhi logged 6 deaths along with 1,757 new COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 28.63% , according to data shared by the health department . The national capital recorded 1,537 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday with a positivity rate of 26.54 per cent.
The death toll on Thursday increased to 5,31,230 with 40 fatalities, which includes 11 reconciled by Kerala, Union government data stated.
