Covid-19: People also afraid of corona infected dead bodies

PM Modi's lockdown is in its final phase. While living with the corona infection, unfortunately there is a crisis even after death. For fear of spreading the infection, their families are also cutting the tomb from the last visit and ceremony. But in Indian culture, disrespect of dead bodies is considered a sin. It is important to know how to bury or cremate the corpses of corona-infected persons. The matter has become relevant because last week the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a circular that the bodies of Covid-19 infected would be cremated at the nearby crematorium without any rituals. Later it was also amended to allow burial in large cemeteries.

Regarding the matter, the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation says that this circular was issued because a community leader pointed out that the cemetery is located in a densely populated area. Due to this, there is a risk of spreading infection in the surrounding area. A general surgeon infected Covid-19 was killed in Hinduja Hospital. His family buried him in the absence of body personnel on March 27 after the body was discharged from the hospital. After this incident, the BMC was worried about whether vigilance was taken in burial of the dead body?

BMC said that the cremation of such dead bodies should be performed in a crematorium with electric or piped natural gas facilities. The circular also stated that even after packing the body in plastic, there would be a risk of contamination in burial, as plastic decomposition would be delayed. It was also said that there should not be more than five people in the last action.
