New Delhi: India's cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has hit 164.44 crore, according to the Union Health Ministry, with over 57 lakh vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours.
"With more than 57 lakh doses (57,35,692) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 1,64,44,73,216 as per provisional reports until 7 a.m. today," the Ministry stated in a news release.This was accomplished after 1,79,63,318 sessions.
According to the Ministry, vaccine doses for beneficiaries aged 15 to 18 years old totaled 4,43,89,137, with 1,03,41,442 doses administered as precautions. Furthermore, the announcement stated that 3,47,443 person had recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 3,80,24,771 since the start of the pandemic.
In the last 24 hours, 2,51,209 new COVID cases were registered, bringing India's active caseload to 21,05,611.
"While testing capacity has been increased across the country, the country's weekly positivity rate is currently 17.47 percent, with a daily positivity rate of 15.88 percent," the Ministry said. A total of 15,82,307 COVID tests were performed in the last 24 hours. COVID tests have been undertaken in India for 72,37,48,555 people.
