New Delhi: According to data updated by the Health Ministry at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, India had 2,38,018 new cases of the novel coronavirus, with 310 deaths. The number of new COVID-19 cases was 20,071 lower than the total number of cases reported on Monday.

In the last 24 hours, 1,57,421 recoveries have been recorded. The number of active coronavirus cases in India has risen to 17,36,628, with a daily positive rate of 14.43 percent. With this, the total number of Omicron cases in India has now reached 8,891, up 8.31% from yesterday.

According to data updated by the Union Health Ministry, India recorded a single-day increase of 2,58,089 new coronavirus infections on Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,73,80,253, including 8,209 cases of the Omicron variant.

Maharashtra has the most Omicron variant cases (1,738), followed by West Bengal (1,672), Rajasthan (1,276), Delhi (549), Karnataka (548), and Kerala (536).
