In the race towards the White House pitting President Donald Trump against Democrat Joe Biden, more than 50 million Americans have voted early, group monitoring the ballot said. The election date has been announced as November 3 but voters are hitting records for casting ballots in order to avoid crowd at polling centers and long lines due to the fear of catching the coronavirus.

The US Elections Project running by the University of Florida,has informed more than 35 million people have now voted by mail and more than 15 million in person by leaving their ballots in designated drop boxes. In 2016 election, 47 million votes were cast early. But the tally in 2020 elections already surpassed this count with ten days left for the actual polling date. The voting rules differ from the state to state. The highly populous, New York gets started only on Saturday, with opening new center, the tally will increase more.

As a precautions measure, Democratic urges the voters to cast their votes early before November 3 and Trump who is bidding Biden has complained mail-in voting is prone to fraud without any concrete evidence. Donald Trump is to cast his vote today.
