Crackdown on Illegal Liquor Operations in UP's Kaushambi: Police Seize Property Worth Lakhs

Law enforcement in Kaushambi district, Uttar Pradesh, continues its crackdown on illegal liquor activities. Recently, authorities seized property valued at Rs 25.5 lakh from three individuals, including a notorious gangster and his son.

Hemraj, also known as Rajababu, along with his son Vivek Pratap and associate Dharam Pasi, were involved in producing and selling illicit liquor. Acting under Section 14(1) of the Gang Ban and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act 1986, the Saini Kotwali police took action and registered a case under the Gangster Act against them.

The confiscated assets include land in Dhumai village worth approximately Rs 10 lakh, allegedly acquired through illegal liquor trade proceeds. Additionally, Vivek owned a tractor and a duster car, collectively valued at Rs 15 lakh, obtained through illicit means. Dharam Pasi also purchased a Splendor bike worth Rs 50 thousand from illegal earnings.

All these properties, totaling Rs 25.5 lakh, have been seized by the police under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Gangster Act. This enforcement action was carried out by Sirathu SDM and Saini Police, following instructions from District Officer Sujit Kumar, causing a stir within the liquor mafia.

DSP Awadhesh Kumar Vishwakarma highlighted that the gangster's unlawfully acquired properties in Dhumai village, including land and various vehicles, were seized as per the Gangster Act.
