New Delhi: After the assembly elections in Haryana, the process of government formation has started. The BJP has emerged as the largest party in these elections, in a few days it will be clear whose government will be formed in the state. It is noteworthy that Haryana has a total of 90 seats in the assembly. The Haryana Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reformers (ADR) have analyzed the affidavits of 90 newly-elected MLAs of the state, through which their financial, criminal and education-related information has been revealed.

On analyzing the affidavit, it is coming out that out of a total of 90 MLAs of Haryana, 12 have admitted to having criminal records. That is, according to statistics, a total of 13 percent of MLAs have a criminal record. If compared to 2014, at that time ten percent of the MLAs were with criminal records. That is, nine of the 90 MLAs were of criminal background.

Seven out of the total 90 MLAs of Haryana have admitted to having a serious criminal record, that means a total of eight percent of the MLAs have serious criminal cases, while in 2014 the figure was six percent i.e. five MLAs were serious on their own It was acceptable to have a criminal record.
