Bhubaneswar: Snake venom worth Rs 1.5 crore was recovered by Odisha police in the Sambalpur area. The case has also resulted in the arrest of two people. This was said by a police officer on Saturday. According to reports, the Deogarh police set up a trap after getting a tip. Some persons were allegedly trying to sell 1 kilogramme of snake venom for Rs 1.5 crore. After thereafter, on Friday, a police squad arrived in Sambalpur to speak with some Sindoorpunk consumers.
Let us inform you that the accused, who was apprehended by the police squad in the interim, talked about delivering money instead of poison. In the glass jar, the team had kept a pound of snake venom. The police team, which arrived as customers, caught them and contacted other police personnel and called them too.
The two arrested persons have been identified as Kailash Chandra Sahu and Ranjan Kumar Padhi as per the information received so far respectively. Deogarh divisional police officer Pratyush Mohapatra has said that we are going to send the recovered poison to the laboratory for action. A case has been registered against the accused.
