Patna: In a shameful incident, a minor girl was gang-raped by eight youths in Bihar's Bagaha. It is being told that the minor was returning from a wedding program with her relative at night. During this, the relative went to defecate near the canal. Then suddenly some boys came there and started forcing the girl.
On hearing the girl's screams, the relative came and confronted the youths. All of them beat him up. The injured relative reached the village to call the people in critical condition. By then, the perpetrators had gang-raped the minor. On receiving the news of the incident, the police reached the spot and started investigating the case.
SDPO Nand Prasad said that the station house officer of Laukarian police station had received the news of the gang rape case. They took immediate action and arrested all the 8 criminals. The matter is being investigated. All the culprits are residents of the village. The victim has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The accused have been identified as Chandan Mahato, Jiwan Sharma, Vinod Kumar, Pramod Kumar, Sardar Mahato, Kantilal Mahato, Munna Mahato and Ravindra Mahato. All of them are aged between 19-24 years. Ramnagar SDPO Nandji Prasad and Laukaria station house officer Abhay Kumar reached the spot and investigated the matter.
