NEW DELHI : The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 began on Friday, for college admission to undergraduate programmes. There are around 14,90,000 applicants who have enrolled for the CUET-UG; of these, approximately 8,10,000 will appear in the first slot on July 15 and approximately 6,80,000 will appear in the second slot beginning on August 4.

This test is being administered by the National Testing Agency at various locations in 554 cities around India and 10 cities outside of India. CUET exam centres have been assigned to 98% of candidates in the cities of their choice, said the UGC President M. Jagadesh Kumar.

Students have filed for 54,555 different combinations of subjects under the new education strategy, according to the National Testing Agency (NTA). Significantly, students now have more freedom to select the disciplines they want to study under the new educational strategy. As a result, novel combinations of several subjects have been developed.

On the sole basis of the class XII syllabus, the Central University Entrance Test is being held for undergraduate programmes in colleges. The entrance exam contains no questions from any other classes besides XII's curriculum. For admission to the colleges covered by CUET, the class XII grades earned will not be taken into consideration.

Through this approach, students will be admitted to undergraduate programmes at 85 Indian universities. The exam will be conducted on July 15, 16, 19, and 20 for the first slot, while in the second slot it will be organised on August 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10.

90 universities will accept applicants who pass these exams for admission. 43 central universities are among them. According to the NTA, each candidate receives their own date sheet because there are so many things to cover.
