A youth from Jabalpur was arrested by the State Cyber Cell for creating a fake Insta profile and sending obscene messages and photos to a girl on Thursday. The accused had allegedly committed the crime to take revenge for his insult by the girl.

Bhanwarkuan area resident girl had lodged a complaint with the cell officials on September 17, 2020 that an unidentified person is sending objectionable photos and messages to her. After the complaint, DSP Shrishti Bhargav was instructed to investigate the case and to arrest the accused. A case under Sections 67, 67-A of the IT Act was registered against an unidentified after receiving a complaint from the girl. During the investigation, the cell officials detained a person named Aman from the city. He hails from Jabalpur and was preparing for the exam of civil judge here in the city. The complaint girl was also preparing for the same.

The accused informed the officials that he was insulted by the girl in front of other aspirants. Since then he was planning to take revenge from her. He created a fake profile on Insta and started chatting with girl and sending obscene pictures to her. A mobile phone and the SIM card used in the crime were also seized by the accused
