New Delhi: Cyclone Jawad has weakened. IMD has said that the cyclonic storm 'Jawad' has weakened to deep erogenous pressure. It is expected to weaken further by the time it reaches Puri. It is a big relief for Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal. IMD said in a statement that the cyclonic storm has weakened to deep pressure and was spotted over the West-Central Bay of Bengal, Visakhapatnam, about 180 km east-southeast of Andhra Pradesh and 330 km south-southwest of Puri, Odisha at 5:30 pm.

Where he has said, "It is expected to move north-east and weaken further into pressure by tomorrow morning. It is expected to approach Puri around noon tomorrow. After which it is projected to move north-east along the Odisha coast towards the coast of West Bengal and weaken further within the next 24 hours to change the low-pressure area.' IMD said it turned into a pressure area on December 2 and into a deep pressure zone on Friday morning and turned into a cyclone on Friday afternoon.  IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at different places over the Banks of the Ganga in West Bengal and different places in north Odisha on Sunday and heavy rainfall at different places in Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura on Sunday and Monday. the IMD has decided to continue to be hostile to shipping and fishermen in the central and northern gulf of Bengal till Sunday.
