Kolkata: Big news is coming about cyclonic storm Sitrang. Yes, it is getting faster with each passing time. The storm wreaked havoc in Bangladesh yesterday i.e. at midnight of Diwali. 5 people died in this, while thousands of people were taken to a safe place by the administration. At least five people have been killed in Barguna, Narail, Sirajganj districts and the Island district of Bhola, a spokesperson of the disaster ministry's control room said. Apart from this, one or two places of the Murshidabad district of South Bengal may receive moderate rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for these areas. With this, wind speed reaching 70-90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph is very likely over North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas districts. Let us tell you that by morning the wind speed can reach 60 kmph gusting to 40-50 kmph in East Midnapore districts. Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely over West Midnapore districts of South Bengal, Kolkata, Howrah, and Hooghly till morning and 85-95 kmph over North Bay of Bengal Wind speed is likely to reach 105 kmph.

Along with this, there is a possibility of flooding in the low-lying areas of West Bengal at the time of the storm. Yes and for this fishermen have been advised not to go to sea till 25 October 2022. Let us tell you that on the afternoon of October 25, 2022, the storm will start slowing down.
