PM Narendra Modi announced financial assistance for Cyclone Yaas hit Odisha and said the central team will assess the loss. In response to PM Modi's assistance, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter to express his gratitude and wrote thank you for announcing an assistance of ? 500 crore. He also appreciated the steps taken for construction of disaster resilent power infrastructure.

Prime Minister Modi retweeted Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's tweet and wrote, "A very useful review meeting was held in Bhubaneswar. We will continue to work together to strengthen disaster management capabilities, an area where Odisha has made commendable progress. The PM reached Bhubaneswar on Thursday morning and in a meeting reviewed the damage caused by Cyclone Yaas in various parts of Odisha".
In the review meeting, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik thanked the PM for visiting the state immediately after the cyclone and emphasized on long term solutions and provisions of disaster friendly power mechanism to get rid of the recurring cyclone problem. Later, he tweeted that the country is facing corona crisis and the state government did not immediately seek any central help from the Centre and it will make arrangements with its own resources.
