The story of Maharishi Dadhichi's donation- Once Lord Vishrapati Dev, distressed by Indra's pride, left Devaloka. Taking advantage of this, Shukracharya, the guru of the demons attacked Indraloka and took possession of Devaloka. With this, a sage got angry with Indra's act and revealed to a demon named Vrittasura, who defeated the whole people and frightened him. Saddened by the defeat, Indra went to Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu advised that he should take the help of Maharishi Dadhich to defeat Vrittasura.
