Dharmendra, who was awarded the title of He-Man, recalled the time of his struggle and said that the real man is Dara Singh ji, which led to the audience going to watch films. That is quite reasonable. Once upon a time, Dara Singh's push on screen was very tempting to the fans. There was a time in the sixties when Dara Singh's movies made waves in more than half of Mumbai's theatres. Dara Singh had bid farewell to the world on this day.

'Kingkang', 'Rustom-e-Baghdad', Dara Singh, who has worked in more than 150 movies like 'Foulad', 'Samson', 'Aaya Storm', 'Hercules', 'Veer Bhimsen', 'Sher Dil', 'Boxer', 'Raka', 'Lootera', 'Sikandar-e-Azam', 'Sardar', 'Naadhish', 'Storm', 'Thief of Baghdad', 'Rustom', 'Bajrang Bali' etc. They range from action to mythological and religious films. Remember a scene from Manmohan Desai's 'Mard'. Amitabh Bachchan on a mare is going to get married.

Suddenly, the mare runs away. Dara Singh then takes the son-in-charge Big B on his shoulder. As a character actor, he had made a strong name for himself in many movies, but his real identity was that of a wrestler hero. It was because of wrestling that he started getting work in films. His wrestling was much publicized in 50s movies. After receiving the title of Rustom-e-Hind in 1954, his whole world changed. In movies, he was shown a lot of wrestling bets. Kingkong, which came in 1962, changed his fortunes.

From an actor to a Rajya Sabha member, he did everything well. Moreover, his humility and helpful behaviour as president of the Cine and TV Artists Association (Sinta) is still remembered by people today. Born on November 19, 1928 at Dharmu Chak, a small village in Amritsar district, Dara Singh was interested in exercise and wrestling since childhood. He also received full encouragement from his parents Balwant Kaur and Surat Singh Randhawa in the matter. When he got the opportunity to act for the first time in the movie, he told the maker, "I have not seen a film till date, then how will I act. However, in his fifty-year career, he earned many honours."
